Final Film Production
Art of the title: http://www.artofthetitle.com/
The film that I am making is a combination of the genres of gangster and drama.
As examples of these genres I have chosen Goodfellas which is a gangster film and Seven which is drama.

The distribution and production company for Goodfellas is Warner Brothers and the distribution company for Seven is New Line Cinema and the production company for Seven is R/Greenberg.
Part 1
The difference between the two is that the title sequence of Goodfellas is quite slow and simple, it is just white words on a black background with a standard font. They use 1950’s big band music over the titles. Whilst Sevens title sequence is fast paced with complicated and creative shots layered over each other with a strange font that looks like it's been hand written over the screen. It has strange and misleading music designed to scare the audience.
Part 2
If I was going to use either of these companies I would choose Warner Brothers because their title sequence is simple yet effective and tells the audience exactly what they need to know without going over the top with elaborate special effects and gimmicks.
I have learnt that the opening credits to the film set the tone for the film and inform the audience of exactly what the film's theme is. For example the film seven, the opening title sequence to the film tells the audience the film is going to be dramatic with its fast paced editing and shots.
The main lesson I have learnt from watching these titles is that you can be creative with how you can show the audience hidden messages in the titles without giving away the entire story.
Part 3
If my film was going to be feature film the production company I would use is 20th century fox as it is a major production company and is extremely good with its global marketing and distribution for global audiences.
A great example of this is for the film Deadpool as they used online advertising, posters, add ons (such as creating Deadpool emoges) and tie ins with other organisations such as testicular cancer and breast cancer awareness.

They also did short films and put them on youtube and facebook to help with word of mouth as well as creating a 12 days of Deadpool in the lead up to christmas where they released a second trailer for the film, this created hype for the film and made people who had never heard of Deadpool before create a better understanding for the character which increased the target audience. For this reason i would choose Fox as even though my film is completely different to deadpool, I would feel comfortable with the way that Fox could advertise the film and would help to create as much interest for people in the film as possible.
